If you can boot into windows try running chkdsk on all drives accepting
the reboot request.

If you don't know how to run chkdsk right click my computer | open. Right
click each partition | properties | tools | error checking. Select
'automatically fix file system errors'. Reboot after doing this for each
partition.

If after running chkdsk the problem is still there:

1. click on your start menu and open the run menu
2. type "cmd"
3. type "fsutil dirty query C:" in cmd window
4. If the return message indicates that the volume is dirty go to step 5
5. type "chkdsk C: /f "
6. Repeat for all partitions
7. reboot

If you can't get into windows at all do all the above from the recovery
console by booting from the XP CD and choosing R at the appropriate time.

If doing the above makes no difference have a look in the event viewer
for any clues.

There are other causes but see if the above works first. If not post back
and someone will help.
