Deleting the downloaded installation files wouldn't remove the update.
You would need to unistall it via the Control Panel/Add & Remove with
the option to see installed updates enabled. Or you could run the
spuninst.exe file in the Windows directory in the compressed backup of
the update.


Rick, the downloaded update was not installed, the installation of the
download was stopped before installation. It's just that each time I go
to the MS Update page to check for updates it says this particular file
has been downloaded and is ready for installation, so it doesn't show up
as an installed update under the Control Panel/Add & Remove option.
