I just (re)installed XP Pro on my 1 GHz laptop. I installed SP2 and then downloaded and installed 40 specific fixes for XP. None for Explorer or Media Player, since I don't use them.

Everything seems to move in slow motion, compared to my 600 MHz desktop running 98SE. Am I the only one with this kind of problem? If not, is there some way to speed it up.

TIA

How much RAM?

248 Mb

Laptops of that vintage typically came with 128 or 256
mb of RAM. You need at least 512 mb of RAM to get good performance
from Windows XP.

Thanks.

Good luck
