Have you checked the system for viruses and spyware/malware? You might
consider also defragmenting the drive.

As the problem occurs when the desktop is reached it maybe a program that is
loading in the background. This 'could be' spyware or a legitimate program,
it is difficult to tell. You might try clicking Start and then Run. In the
Run dialog box type: msconfig

This will open the configuration window. Click the startup tab to see what
programs are set to load as the PC boots. It may be opne of these that is
taking longer than it should be. For that matter loading the application at
startup may not even be necessary. The only way you can really find out is
by disabling the different programs one by one and see what make a
difference.

Then
Welcome Loading Your Personal Setting.
It then takes 35secs to reach desktop with wallpaper,no icons.
After 4minutes icons appear on screen then system is fine.
Why does it take so long to get from loading settings to icons appearing
on
screen?
Everything else works fine,switching between usernames etc....
