Connect both to the router, and then set up a simple home network.. use the
Network Wizard for this..
In order to use one monitor, and presumably one mouse and keyboard, you will
need to get a KVM switch (Keyboard Video Mouse).. some also share Audio, but
they cost more..

My new machine, is due to arrive next week.
I would like to connect it and this present machine together; either via
direct wire
or thru my Linksys 4 port switch router (wireless).
Object is to be able to reach various files and programs from old machine
'at will'
vice moving all data to new machine.
Also would I require another monitor? (hope not)
Have 'no' idea how to do this. Heck, or even if it is possible.
