What you need to do is to turn off all the dialing rules and put the entire
7 or 10 digit phone number in the dialing to box. This will not dial the 1.
I use it all the time this way since I may have to dial a 1 for long
distance in area code 410 for some numbers and other times I don't need to
dial 1 to dial a different number in the same area code.

XP fax insists automatically puts a country code (1 for US) in front of
long distance numbers. I need to turn this off because my long
disrtance service automatically does this. That is, my faxes need to go
(215)555-1212 and not
1(215)555-1212
But XP doesn't seem to give you the option of send a long distance fax
without using a country code. Is there some was to do this?
