Turn off remote access!
Go to Start, Run, type services.msc
This will open up the list of services that run on XP. Disable the following services; 'Remote Access Auto Connection Manager', 'Remote Access Connection Manager', 'Remote Desktop Help Session Manager'

| control of my computer. I am completely comp eliterate. I have spent 500
| dollars to wipe my computer clean. yet it is not clean. my comp had a
| wireless router in her name; I have since gone to direct connect from moden
| to my comp. but even though she is gone, it appears that she still has
| control of my computer. I have spent a long time trying to figure this out.
| Including almost 100 dollars to microsoft for tech support. no one can answer
| my questions. It seems as though she has made my computer the remote computer
| to her computer. Keep in mind that she has had total access to my comp for 8
| months. even after cleaning my comp;, as soon as I start it up, in the event
| viewer some of the things I see are, "the remote access manager has entered
| the starting state." "the event log has been turned off." "the event log has
| been turned on." this along with other questionable events. The problem is, I
| have no computer skills. so I cannot figure it out. Not even with help from
| windows or microsoft . someone please help thanks
