Re: How to open port 21



My OS is WinXP Pro-Sp2. While waiting for reply, I tried Windows
Firewall - advance.
That permitted opening of the port21. Now, ftping is working.

I have another similar computer at home. Both office and home computers
have almost identical configuration and software installation. Ftping did
not work on my office computer because port 21 was blocked. On the other,
no problem with my home computer. I am puzzled about port 21.
Could you please tell me what causes blocking (or opening) port21? Then,
I will be careful in future. Craig
