You're kidding right? If the computer is shut down, how could it possibly be running the scheduler to launch a wake up program?
Also daily defragmenting is absurd. Monthly is more than enough for most
users.

The OS is not operating when the system is in hibernation.... is no way for it to trigger a wake up from hibernation. ... look for power management settings on my network cards. ... notification used by Task Scheduler to wake up to run a task... ... XP will not "Wake the computer to run this task" ... I have a laptop on which I've scheduled a weekly defrag via task scheduler....
