ACCESSIBILITY HAS TURNED ITSELF BACK ON

NO I"M NOT SHOUTING>
THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I HOLD THE SHIFT KEY DOWN TOO LONG>
AND AS ANNOYING AS THIS IS TO YOU< I"VE FOUND FOR SOME REASON THE ONLY thing
that kicks this thing back into normal space is writing a post to a news group.
Since it's an XP problem, yes it just cleared itself. But for the past 10
minutes, I've been highlighting everything on the desktop, only able to access
the recycle bin and status bar. Keys no longer had meaning. Even survived a
reboot.
Took a reboot and 5 minutes just to get to this NG to post this.
It would only select ALL groups and want to retrieve from all groups.
I went into control panel accessiblity options and attempted to find something
that tells me how to turn accessibility off. The only thing I could find was
the one that says turn it off after 5 miutes of non use. Sheesh.
This has happened before and not one useful solution in all the past 2 years on
how to turn this problem off completely.
Yes I'll daydream, my finger sitting on a key usually the shift key. Then this
happens.
I want it off never to return.
