The Sims 2 Minimum specification (as specified on thesims.uk.ea.com).
OS - Windows 98/2000/Me/XP
Processor - Intel Pentium III 800MHz
Memory - 256MB RAM
Hard Drive - 3.5 GB
CD-DVD - 8 SPEED
Video Card - 32MB Transform & Lighting capable video card*
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0 compatible
DirectX - Version 9.0
Input - Keyboard, Mouse
Both PCs should easily be able to handle "The Sims 2", they should also
be able to play any games currently out there.
Whether the extra £101 for Quote 2 is worth it is more upto you.
If your daughter is like my sister then Quote 1 is fine (i.e. plays a
bit of Sims and does word processing and internet chat, thats about
it).
If she is like one of my friends (i.e. likes some of the really new
games, like Doom 3 and Call of Duty 2 ... basically games that are
usually considered ladish and therefore have some "top" graphics) then
Quote 2 is looking better as those games maybe pushing the limits of
Quote 1.
