corrupted registry/recovery console not working.

How do you get back into a PC that has been "repaired" by following the
instructions in KB307545, but unfortunatly missing the warning regarding OEM
installed OS's. I assume that this is why the RC does not respond after
selecting the installation.
How would one repair a corrupt registry on an OEM installed OS?
