Re: Removing the coloured blocks under desktop icons...



Control Panel-System-Advanced-Performance Settings.
Check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" on the Visual
Effects tab

For the "also", rightclick the Taskbar and uncheck "Lock the taskbar"
