Re-install Windows XP?

Hello people,

i'm having trouble with using my Windows XP Home Edition for a couple of
weeks now. Using IE or Firefox takes a couple of minutes to load, same with
Words, some websites applications take minutes to finish etc.
My guess is to re-install XP and all the other basoc softwares like
Anti-virus, Firewall, Words etc. to it's initialsystem configurarton. I know
it's a kinda basic issue for every pc user, but it's a first for me. I have
scanned my computer a million times (literally), did an Ad-Aware scan (dito)
and have delete my temporary internet files aswell. They dont seen to have
any impact. Only thing left for me to do is re-install or the complete
system.

My simple question is what are the best sollutions for me to undertake and
what are the risks and issues i need to check before i actually go
reconfigurate my system?
