Sorry this is a bit off-post, but I'm desperate!
My new Epson inkject printer has used up all the original inks supplied and I've fitted compatible cartidges.
But I now get a message when I try to print saying that I'm not using genuine ink!!!!!
Does my new C86 now actually PREVENT me from using compatibles? If so, is this legal?
Any advice on what I can do next. Any help urgently required.

That printer probably uses cartridges that have chips that have to be reset or chips in the printer that have to be reset. Do your new cartridges have chips on them?

Take a look at the newsgroup alt.comp.periphs.printers and do a search for your printer. Chances are that someone else has had that problem.
