They never tell you the hardware fails faster than the software...
My DVD-RW was slowly disintegrating, and no matter how well I polished the CD's
it couldn't read them.
New DVD RW also came with Nero 6, for the price of Nero 6 alone. And being
memorex, I'm guessing ALL my memorex CD's and DVD's will now work.
Plus a new 200 gig to replace the 8 gig. Boots much faster now and finally have
enough room for XP. Sheesh.
As for the dual boot idea, when I got the new machine, I lost a lot of software
that I'd created with the HP writer, It used something called UDF that wasn't
compatible with XP. Whole lot of data CD's gone to waste.
And the hp update stuff didn't handle them either.
