Loss of help and support center and system information

I recently updated to sp2 for XP pro, and I notice that all the links,
shortcuts on my desktop,startmenu and in windows explorer no longer work,
everything else in the upgrade worked great is there a workaround for this,
the process wont even function from inside the pc health folder did something
get erased
