XP reboots each time I go online

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I'm reposting this question since it probably went unnoticed where I posted
it yesterday, inside somoene else's query.

I just installed Windows XP for the first time two days ago. It took me a
long time, but it seemed to install successfully. I also installed
TotalAccess from a CDROM, which I received some time last year. I received
the XP package more than two and a half years ago, as an upgrade for my new
Dell computer, but didn't feel like dealing with it before now. (I later
uninstalled TotalAccess after I got the runtime error message Pattie asked
about a few days ago, and that fixed that problem.)

Here's what my problem is. Each time I connect to my ISP I soon get the
message that LSA Shell (Export Version) has encountered a problem and needs
to close. It then says that the computer has created an error report to
send to Microsoft. I can give you the details of what it says in the report
if that would help. It mentions two files: lsass.exe.mdmp and
appcompat.txt, giving their location. Then, after I agree to send the
report to Microsoft, I get a message saying something about NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM where it tells me to save my work and counts down from
sixty seconds before the computer automatically reboots.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can tell me how to fix this.

Thank you in advance.
Glen
