Control Panel>Network Connections>< connection name >. Right click it, then
select "Create Shortcut"; you will be asked if you want one on Desktop as it
can't be created there. Select Yes, then go to Desktop and move or copy the
shortcut where desired. I have mine on both the Desktop and where I know it
is on the Start button. A right click on this shortcut gets "Disconnect" in
the pop-up menu.
