To delete the (maximum of 25) search arguments that you typed into the
Search Assistant you will need to edit the registry.

The Most Recently Used (MRU) history for the "All or part of the file
name:" box corresponds to this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru\5603

The Most Recently Used (MRU) history for the "A word or phrase in the
file:" box corresponds to this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru\5604

To clear the history:

- Close all Windows Explorer and/or Search Assistant Windows
- Click Start, click Run, type the following command and click OK:
regedit
- Navigate to the aforementioned keys
- Delete the "REG_SZ" values 000 - 024. The only value that should
remain in the right-side pane is: (Default) REG_SZ (value not set).
