I have XP pro SP2 and have just noticed that my MS Firewall is not on.

I tried to put it on but it said I had Group Policy On.

I am the only admin and set it all up myself.

This business box accesses a LAN and a Gateway Router and is on the
internet most of the day as a web designer.

It accesses and is accessed by others on the LAN.

I looked and saw there were quite a few Firewall exceptions such as ..

Run Dll as App
UpnP Framewoek
Tbired
FFox
Messenger
AVG Anti Virus files
Ms DirectPlay Voice Test
Skype

The Advanced Tab says both 1394 and LAN IS Firewalled. No services can
be accessed via internet.

Just wondered if I need to have it differently.

Several advanced Internet security software packages will turn off the
MS XP SP2 firewall so that their software firewall will be used.

What anti-virus / Internet "access" security software are you using?
