It sounds like you are still trying to keep the wired and wireless on
the same subnet with different metrics. With a configuration like that
you can't use wired and wireless at the same time.

You need to put the wireless router AND the wireless network adaptor
which connects to it onto a different subnet and change the default
gateway to this new subnet.
