If creating and logging on the same username with the same password on both computers, can you access each other?

Hi,
Got a problem accessing some files from my win xp pro sp2 to vista home.
Everything seems to be setup correctly. I'm sharing the hard drives between
machines i can access the shared folders on both machines. When i try to
access through the users on the accounts to get to the desktop files it
doesn't allow me access. The other day it asked me for a username and
password and i typed it and i got access but i forgot to tick remember
username and password. I'm at a loss as what to do. Any help? It shows this
error code: 0×80070005.
