Re: IE & Outlook Suddenly cannot see the internet

Yes yes yes. I turned it off from its own control panel, rebooted, openned
the control panel, and its still OFF.

Yesterday afternoon suddenly IE & Outlook stopped accessing the
internet.
I have 2 Windows machines hard-wired to a LinkSys WRT54G router which
connects to a Cable Modem.
The second machine works fine. IE, Outlook, no problems.
From the first machine I can PING anything on the web, so I know I am
connected. Network Connections says my LAN is Connected. Firewall is
OFF.
If I open the LAN Status box and PING something, the Sent & Received
packet
counts increment as expected.
If I try to access an IP address (even the LinkSys at 192.168.1.1), the
packet counts do not change.
I have tried running thru both Network Setup and New Connection wizards.
Nothing changes.

Any clue what is happening???

Check all / any software firewall setting including any anti-virus
Internet worn protection module. These Internet worm blovking systems
behave exactly like a firewall.- Hide quoted text -

How did you disable 360? If you just disabled it from starting up on
your XP, this is not good enough since 360 is still protecting (aka
blocking) your system. You need to turn 360 off from within the
Advanced Settings within 360.
