Just lately the error message has changed to read "Logon failure: the user
has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer"

I have tried disabling NAV2008 to no avail.

I have checked Administrative Tools/Local Security Policy/User Rights
Assignment/Access this computer from the network and made sure
Administrators, Everyone, Users, etc. are listed.

What is causing this and how can I overcome it please?

It's driving me mad! ;^)

The error message "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the
requested logon type at this computer" indicates a problem with
network permissions on the MCE box. To fix it:

1. Click Start > Run, type "secpol.msc" in the box, and click OK.

2. Click Local Policies.

3. Click User Rights Assignment.

4. Click "Access this computer from the network" and make sure that
the Everyone group is included.

5. Click "Deny access to this computer from the network" and make sure
that the Everyone group is NOT included.
Thanks very much for the replies guys...

Steve, Already been there...done that...;^)

I have a horrible feeling the only way will be to re-install from scratch
and see what happens then <sigh>

I wish there was an easy fix...

Check both of those user rights again, as well as the membership of
the Everyone group. Try explicitly adding users to the "Access this
computer" right.

Make sure that the Guest account is enabled for access over the
network:

net user guest /active:yes
