Hi
In Internet explorer pull down the Tool menu choose the last entry, Internet Options.
In Internet Option choose the connection Tab and check the Never Dial A connection entry.

In my XP, and I am sure in all other versions as well, it has become common that the dialup is being triggered by some functio n in the computer (Thinkpad T43). Not that I have DSL, I don't need it, but, and even in tmmes before, I have had dialup only, something triggers an automatic, dialup sequence. Is it my browser? an attempt at update? A worm? WHAT? Ther are no buttons of any sort I can find anywhere to stop this action.
HOW DO I STOP THIS PEST???
