Re: Sharing/Security Tab Missing?

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I tried both suggestions but still issue remains "unresolved."

I had him login to another computer and also he doesnt see the Share tab...

Could this be an account related in the domain?
You think this has something to do with his IIS component installed?
You think it has something to do with his SQL installed?

I tried logging into the computer he logged on to I see the Share Tab.

However when I login to his very own machine (where the issue originated) I
also dont see the Share tab, both adminstrator (locally) and my Domain
credential - this is by far the most confusing issue I have ever dealt with...

Any other ideas experts? :-)

Hi there,
I've got this weird error in one of my users in Windows XP Pro.

For some reason when he is trying to share a folder - right click then
properties, he's not seeing his "share/security" tab. All he can see are
"General, WebShare, & Customize" tabs.

I tried googling this and found a few forums about it but none had resolved
the issue: http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/160486.html

I also configured his "simple sharing" under folder options but that didnt
help. His pc is WinXP Pro SP2 in an NTFS format. He is definitely an admin of
his local computer and the pc is a member of the domain - no GPO regarding
disabling the share/security tabs as others in the domain dont have this
issue. When I login using my credentials, same thing I also dont see the
Share/Security tab which is only this issue is specific to his machine.

Can someone point me to a fix to this? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Download, unzip, and run ShellExView from:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Look at the two entries for "Shell extensions for sharing". If
they're disabled, right-click and enable them.
