I am using the linksys wireless N router. I have a desktop which is running
Win XP Pro and I have setup the computer allowing remote desktop connection.
I setup this computer under the DMZ. I am able to connection to this computer
from local/external network without any problem but recently.. I am not able
to connect to this desktop anymore from external network. I am still able to
connect only within the local network. I have double check the router
setting. Nothing changed and the dmz is still pointing to the desktop. Does
anyone know why I am not able to connect to the computer from the external
network anymore? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.
First take the PC out of the DMZ. Having the PC in the DMZ is a big security risk. Next forward TCP Port 3389 to the PCs static LAN IP address. You can test if you have port forwarding setup correctly in the router by going to the http://www.canyouseeme.org site.
