Sorry, Malke. I thought this thread had gone dead and saw that someone else had the same problem. I thought that might be easier for all....
I sent through the tool you referenced and it is quite good, but my issue is not solved. I did try the net use command to access a share and received the error message: "Not enough server storage is available to process this command."
So, I thought maybe I've created too many shares, and tried deleting a few on the computer that is sharing. Not sure that is working, as the shared folders do not seem to disappear from the exploded networking tree, even if I try to delete them.
1. Is the potential issue too many shares?
2. Beyond unsharing, what else must be done to remove the share and regain that memory space (if there is a limitation)?
3. The tool suggests problems may be with a cheap router (LinkSys) which I have, but again I am able to share and access some folders fine, but others I cannot.
Thanks for the patience and help. Next suggestion?
Honestly, I really have lost track of what you have and haven't done. Networking can be confusing for people who haven't done it but it is generally pretty straightforward. At this point, you'd be best off having a local computer professional come on-site and set you up properly. This will not be someone from BigComputerStore/GeekSquad. Get recommendations from family, friends, colleagues.
I'm sorry that I was unable to help you. EOT for me.
