Re: Filesharing Problem - Connect password.

OK, I created a new account that matches one of the accounts on the computer from which I'm attempting to share. That did not fix the problem.

Do I need to match the ORIGINAL account name of the sharing computer? And I assume that name must be the original name in case it was ever changed, so do I use the folder name from Documents and Settings (and change that account name back to match)?

Can I then delete the original account? Or must it be maintained as the "master" admin account?

You are now posting in two separate threads which is not A Good Thing. The other thread was started by someone else. You should stay in this one so we can try and resolve your issue.

There is no reason to delete the extra user account. If it is the built-in Administrator account, you *can't* delete it.

If you are having difficulties following my suggestions (and there is no shame in this, we all have our areas of expertise) then take the time to go through MVP Hans-Georg Michna's Small Network Troubleshooter here:

http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm

Going through his troubleshooter will usually pinpoint the source of the problem(s).
