Slow connection to shard folder on a workgroup.

I have 3 systems on a workgroup. 1 is hosting a shared folder with roughly 6gb of data in it. Every time I attempt to open any of the sub folders from the other 2 systems it takes roughly 30 seconds. Is it possible to make those systems cache that information?

Notes: Each system is showing that it's connected at 100mbps, and all are using XP Home SP2 with 2.0Ghz procs or higher with 512 ram. When i runs MS process monitor it shows the system query for each file is successful.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
