LAN drive

Hi,
this is the first time I write here. I'm from Italy and I hope my English is good enough to explain my problems.
I bought a lan drive with FTP / SMB server. Connected to the Ethernet port of my router I can configure it through the web interface. Here some details:
Host Name FILESERVER
Group Name HOME
IP 192.168.0.254
SubnetMask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1 (my router's IP)
Primary DNS 192.168.0.1
Well, the FTP server works fine and I can reach it writing the IP address in Internet Explorer.
What I can't do is reach the FTP server using the host name ('fileserver') nor browsing the hard drive via 'network resources'. In the latter case Windows says I haven't permission to access.
Please note:
+ the group name is the same of my desktop PC
+ Explorer sees the 'fileserver' pc in the LAN (also NET VIEW does)
+ My account is 'Administrator'
+ Windows firewall is disabled and I haven't any other firewall enabled
May you help me, please?
Thanks
Marco / iw2nzm
