It is Not clear to ne your current Network topology and how the local Wireless works.
However in general you can share files through a Network, you can Not run a program that is installed on computer A from computer B unless you use a Remote Control Program.

Thank you Jack. I don’t understand what you mean by switching to

Here’s my situation: We live in an area where neither cable nor DSL are
available for high-speed Internet; my only option is wireless broadband
through Verizon Wireless, that’s why I’m using the USB modem.
