hi
im not having luck connecting my desktop to internet via my wireless router.
but i can with 2 other laptops vista & xp. the desktop is xp.in network
connections on entering network key it keeps saying must be 40 or 104 bits
etc. but the same key connects the other two computers alright. the router is
a netgear G. the wireless adapter for the desktop is a belkin. does this
affect my network someone please help

What type of encryption does your wireless router use? The most
common types are:

64-bit WEP (also called 40-bit)
128-bit WEP (also called 104-bit)
WPA-PSK

Configure the desktop's wireless connection to use the same type of
encryption and the same encryption key as the router.

Two things:

1) MS did provide an update to the Wireless Zero Configuration to
give WPA2 features.

2) Check for updated network adapter drivers.

Also, what "connection" utility are you using to control the wireless
network adapter? Belkin's or XP Wireless Zero Configuration???- Hide quoted text -
