sorry if this is a double post,Its possible the DSL modem is also a router. If so you need to put the modem into a bridge or pass through mode. What modem and what ISP? You may have to contact your ISP for help if the modem was configured by them. At the very least check the modem manufacturers support pages or the users manual for help doing that. You can test to see if TCP Port 3389 is being blocked by going to the http://www.canyouseeme.org site while logged onto the host PC.
I am still having connection problems.
Since I have DSL at the host I downloaded and installed on the host the
No-IP software, this connects and resolves,
created the host which attaches to my DSL's IP address. I opened ports on my
firewall TrendMicros PC-cilin 80 and 3389, but the remote computer can not
connect. I have disable the firewall on the host all together and still no
connection. I did add the user name to the host's remote connection option
with admin rights, in my network setup (host) i have TCP/IP only no netbios
as protocols. I have enable logging at the host PC and it shows no activety
as to attemps for the remote computer to login.
