Workgroup names are the same on both XP and Vista, both fully updated.
IPConfig dumps are identical on each when working or problem happening. LLTD
patch installed on XP, and "restrictanonymous" key is "0".
Vista Networking and Sharing has:
- Network Discovery ON
- File Sharing ON
- Public Folder Sharing ON
- Password Protection OFF
- Printer sharing ON
- Media sharing OFF
- Network is set to ?Private?
- IPV 6 unchecked / disabled

How about some detail on "I can't access my XP machine". Can't see it in My
Network Places? Get an error message when clicking on it (what message?)? Get
no response, just a dumb look?

We could look at logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config
server", and "net config workstation", from each computer, together, and
diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
