You also need to be using good quality cables in order for the 1G
signals to work. 10, 100 and 1G networks all use the same basic
network cable connectors but 1G network signal seem to be using
different wires with-in the cable. 100 networks uses more wires than
just the plain 4 wires that 10 networks use.
