Hi Bob,

I'm a little confused since I'm not a network pro. Both machines have the
same user name and password. I did this because in the past I had the exact
same problem and by doing it this way there was no issues.

In reading the information you provided, it looks like I have to call
Microsoft for the hotfix? Perhaps I'm not understanding what the
documentation is telling me.

Here's the problem. I have 2 computers. The main one is running Windows XP
Pro and the other Windows 2000. I have had access to both computers with no
problem until July 10th when security updates were installed by auto update.
I have checked all configurations and even redone them to no avail. When I
try to map drives or access the XP computer through the 2000 computer, the
"Enter Network Password" box with a message " Incorrect password or unknown
username for \\computer name.

When I check the security log in the event viewer on the XP computer it
shows the following:

Sometimes the Logon Type is a 2

I am at a total loss. Yesterday I rebuilt the Windows 2000 computer thinking
something had become corrupt but that wasn't the case. Then common sense told
me it was something on the Windows XP that was blocking it. I also turned off
all security temporarly and that didn't work. Tried setting up a new user on
both and that didn't work.

Please HELP!
