Re: Connected at 100mb but no Internet

so you are connected directly to the DSL modem and there is no
router involved?

Still do not understand how you have determined that there is packet
loss.

Can you please open a cmd prompt and do tracerts to yahoo.com and
google.com and paste the complete TEXT results in as a reply?

Thanks. I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with Broadcomm NIC, xp pro sp2
attempting to connect to Verizon DSL. NIC light is on, connect icon shows
100 mb but receive packets light is not on. Verizon says it's a Microsoft
problem (of course) b/c pings work without lost of packets. Thanks again.

I doubt it is the same problem. Please post details:
NIC details
router? details?
Operating System is XP?

how are you determining packet loss?

I have the exact same problem. I've swapped cables and attempted to update
the NIC drivers with the same result. I'm trying to use Verizon DSL.
Everything looks good with the exception of the packets received -- it's only
1 or 2 each time I try. Help --- PLEEEESE!

Have you checked for new NIC drivers?

I have a client with a Dell Latitude D520, XP Pro SP2, IE7. The network card,
when set to auto, connects at 100mb but network and Internet aren't
available. It appears to send traffic but receive very little. I've installed
a new cable, different switch, etc. Other comuters are able to connect at
100mb, no problem. If I set the NIC to 10mb, full or half, it connects fine.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
