Hi
When using live network it is highly advisable that all the network
components should NOT be part of any power saving scheme.
You can use static IP. However since you have a Modem Router ICS is not
needed you are probably better off changing the topology. and using a switch
connecting the two computers to the Router.

I am on a home network with 2 desktops, both running Windows XP SP2 home.
I have 2 NIC's in my desktop and one in the other, connected through
Billion ADSL Router Modem with 4-port 10/100M Switch.
ICS works fine until my desktop hibernates, sometimes it wakes up and all
connections work, but sometimes it can not find IP address. The other
machine never has any problems connecting to Internet.
In device manager, for my (Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit
Ethernet controller) there is under the "Advanced" tab a possibility to
give a value to "Network Address". Should I give it an IP address and
should it be 192.168.1.254 the default gateway one.
Under the Power Management, I have not checked the power saver option. A
reboot fixes it, but is a pain.
Please where did I go wrong.
This is the error in "Event Viewer".
