Dell computer with an imbedded network adaptor and dial-up modem. I am
getting the error "Network Cable Unplugged". When I use the exact same cable
modem and cable with my laptop it works fine. I have enabled/disabled. I have
uninstalled/reinstalled. It is enabled via BIOS.
The exact same thing is happening with the modem. I cannot get a dial tone
and getting a no connectivity error.
I installed a seperate network adaptor card with the same results. No
connectivity lights on card either.
Any suggestions?
I get that on mine. I think it is for Ethernet. Does it say Rhine
II or something like that? Just click on ignore, you don't care about
that adapter in this case I think.
No Rhine II - and I can't ignore it. I have no internet access!
OK, I reread this. What you are doing is trying to do dial-up
connection for your computer. There should be no network anything
involved. It looks to me like your computer is trying an ethernet
connection. I'm assuming you have dial-tone where your plugged in.
( I had dial up until just recently) You went through your phone and
modem options on your control panel, on your "network connections"
window, do you have an ICON for your ISP? double clicking that should
dial them up without any other software being involved. If that works
but you can't get the rest of your software to connect, it is
configuration. If it doesn't work, well this icon should turn your
modem on and dial, It is between here and wall telephone jack.
