Web Browsing Not Possible Always

Why is it that web browsing with Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 and
Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 becomes impossible after an hour or so with
both of my laptops having Windows XP Home Edition SP2 and ZoneAlarm
7.0.337.000, but I still can listen to net radio channels (with 128
kbps bitrate) with Winamp 5.35? Both laptops have different
manufacturers (HP and Fujitsu Siemens) and I'm using an ADSL modem
(ZyXEL Prestige 660R-61), a wireless router (D-Link DI-524UP) and a
UPS (MGE Protection Center 500). I don't use the wireless connection
much. If I recall correctly, the other laptop started having the same
problems after some Windows/Microsoft update, but I'm not sure if it's
an update that started causing the problems.
