Need to synch files across two XP Pro machines. Here's what I did,
per Help:
1) went to folder for which I want synch
2) set it to share out, including 'let network users change my files'
3) ensured firewall exception for file and printer sharing is on
4) went to tools, synchronize
Nothing shows up. And here I'm stuck. What am I doing wrong? I am a
fairly ignorant one on this matter, so dummy instructions would be
helpful (clearly Windows Help has not done the trick).
Thx.
Sounds like you didn't actually choose the option to make the mapped
drive/remote share available offline on your own computer.
You could also go to www.centered.com and check out SecondCopy (my preferred
method) or look at SyncToy, etc., for something that might work better and
be easier to troubleshoot & fix when something goes wrongt.
