I have a computer that will get an IP, gateway and DNS entry via DHCP.
If I ping with a name, like yahoo.com, I get an error message when I try
to ping with a name:
Ping request could not find hostwww.yahoo.com. Please check the name
and try again.
However nslookup gives a correct ip and if I put the ip in the browser
it will bring up the page. So, it seems as though DNS is working and
resolving, from the nslookup, but the stack doesn't use the information.
Are you using NSLookup against the same DNS server(s) that your
network connection is using?
Can you talk to the DNS servers over both UDP and TCP?
