Desktop must be "set" to allow incoming echo requests - which by the way is
not a recommended setting - main purpose is for troubleshooting.
having said that - if your network is function ok - don't sweat the ping.

Hi
I have home network wtih one desktop, one laptop and one server, all
behind
my Buffalo tech router. ALl the computers can go out to internet, no
problem.
From my desktop, I can ping server and laptop.
From my laptop, I can ping server, but NOT desktop.
From my server, I can ping laptop, but NOT desktop.
If I reboot my deksotp into Safe mode with network, then my server and
laptop can ping my desktop. Can I safely say the problem is with my
desktop?
I double checked my desktop, firewall is off. Not 100% sure about
registies.
I have workgroup enviroment.
Please advice me what can went wrong with my desktop. I have spent good 30
+
hours on this. Drive me nuts.
Youe help will be highly appreciated.
Mike
