Slow DNS response to Ping

I have 5 Win XP client workstations in our home network along with two Win
2K3 servers and a Linux server. All activity goes to the internet through a
switch, then a Netscreen firewall/router, and finally out the Cable modem.
On my IBM Thinkpad (T42), and only my Thinkpad, when I open a DOS window a
ping to Yahoo, or Google, etc pauses for seven or eight seconds before
responding. If I log off my own administrator account and onto the real
"administrator" account (which I haven't done before today for over a year),
this problem doesn't occur. So, I enter:
C:\Documents and Settings\william>ping www.yahoo.com
....wait seven or eight seconds and get:

All pinging to IP address respond instantly. "Nslookup www.yahoo.com"
responds instantly. An "ipconfig /all" shows:

When I run a "ipconfig /displaydns" I see that:

....appear in the list, as do a couple of others in the reverse format like:

If I try to ping any of these devices they respond instantly, except
"asidev", "localhost", and "asi4550a", which respond after the 7-8 seconds.
I've tried to flush the dns by issuing the "ipconfig /flushdns" command and
rebooting multiple times. Still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea why this occurs on my machine logged in as me?
