Hello

For your satelite internet connection does both the upload & download stream
come through the satelite ? or does the upload strean require you to dial in
using a dial up connection ?

Going back several years ago when satelite internet was first available it
required a user connect using a dial up connection for the upload stream.
Which using that method could cause great headaches and disconnects if the
settings for the modem arent set just right. I would think by now all or most
Satelite providers do have the capability of using the dish to transmit both
streams.

Can you give me a detailed description on how your setup is ? from the
satelite box to your computer how is it all connected... ?? example.. tele
cable or ethernet cable runs from the satelite box runs to a router then to
your pc.. etc..?

Almost sounds like a problem of either a tcp/ip settings, ethernet
setting..possibly an auto disconnect thingy or a dhcp & dns.

Lots of suggestions... just a matter of time then your connection will be
stable

Austrailia....Right On!...cheers! I'm still wanting to take that vacation
some day.

G'Day, Thanks for the swift reply. OK first up if your looking for a
computer savvy person and your looking in my general direction then
your searching on the wrong planet. What I know about computers and
the internet you could write on the back of a postage stamp and have
lots of room left over soooo, when you ask a question it has to be in
plain English (or Australian.)

The satellite connection is a stand alone, always on system that hooks
up by telecable from the dish to an Ipstar external Broadband
satellite modem and then to the computer.

Thats about the extent of my knowledge so what else can I do to answer
your questions ?

If you come for a holiday bring some water will you its' a bit dry
here.
