According to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:
"Default Node Type for Microsoft Clients"
<http://support.microsoft.com/kb/160177/en-us>
The node type can be set by your DHCP server, a Registry key, or left
to default according to computer settings. My guess is that sometimes
your DHCP server sets it and sometimes it defaults. Set the registry
key if you want it not to change.
