Hello
I would like to know why when i get connected to a wireless network i cannot
connect to either internet explorer or mozilla browsers. Both browsers
display error messages advising me to check my network settings, the problem
with that is i don't know what to look for?! Can any one help out there? And
advise me on how to solve the problem please?
I am currently using windows xp.
Thank you
Klantee
Simply you are not connecting to the Router, how did you set up your
Wireless?.
Did you run the configuration utility or you let windows Zero Configuration
to manage it for, also do you have WPA, WEP encryption Key when you setup the
Router?.
Double click the Wireless Icon on the Notification Area/tray and see if you
can see your Network listed there, if you can see it double click it and try
to connect if you got an error then try to Right click it and Add the Info,
one of them the Security Key (WPA, WEP) encryption.

Hi Nass & thanks for getting back to me...
I allowed windows to configure my settings for me as i do not have a network
as my own, i used to just be able to connect to various wireless networks
whislt out and about and be able to surf the net, but for some reason it has
stopped.
As i have been trying to re-configure my setting since, i fear that i have
got lost in the setting and don't know how to re set my connection to the
original settings.
When i connect to various networks i get a strong signal but am unable to
connect to the internet due to the error messages i mentioned earlier.
I will look up the information you gave me and let you know the outcome. In
the mean time, if the information that i have just given helps you more then
i would be grateful if you could advise me further.
Many thanks for you time.

Try this:
1- Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
then CMD.exe click [OK] on the command prompt C:\>ipconfig /renew or
ipconfig /release Hit Enter on your Keyboard.
Then type Exit and Reboot your machine then try to establish connection.
If still then try this;
2- Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE click on Connections Tab then click on LAN settings.
There be sure the Proxy box not selected and the Automatically detect is
selected.
Click Apply then OK and close the IE properties.
Then Open the run command and type in:
netsh winsock reset click [OK] and Reboot your machine and try to connect.
HTH.
Let us know.
