Re: New Laptop can access only 1 of 2 computers on the network

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Wow, that's some heavy-duty reading/thinking there.

I tried the browstat status. Everything that I can tell looks OK, except this:
The desktop which the laptop cannot access reports "There are 2 servers in
domain...", while the laptop reports "There are 3 servers in domain...".

Since there actually are 3 computers on this network, I guessing the
referenced desktop has a problem. I just don't know what it is, or what to do
about it.

Thanks for your quick reply. But all the links you listed returned "Internal
Server Error - Error 500".

Les,

The error "The network path was not found." is a name resolution problem.

It's generally caused by a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

Also, check NetBT, and make sure that it's consistently Enabled on all
computers.

Or look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer, and
diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
